5 ways to wellbeing

Evidence suggests there are 5 steps we can all take to improve mental health and wellbeing, make us more positive and get the most out of life.

  • Connect with other people - if this is a struggle, please contact the local social prescription service for help and advice
  • Be physically active - we live in one of the greenest areas in the country where can access many green spaces for free.  The borough cycle map has lots of destinations on it which can also be reached on foot.
  • Keep learning - every day is a school day! The local college and the open learning centre have lots of options
  • Giving to others - To find out more about volunteering visit Involve Community Services
  • Take notice - stop and be mindful of your own thoughts and feelings, what are they and why do you have them (our big feelings page might be helpful)
