Years 3/4

Welcome To Year 3 and Year 4

Hello and welcome to our phase!

Here you will find individual class pages for Ash, Larch, Chestnut and Hawthorn, so make sure to check them out. Each page will contain more information specific to that class.

Welcome back to an exciting new year in years 3 and 4! This term we will be turning our attention from Ancient Egypt to Romans, under the title of 'Food, Fear and Freedom'. As part of this learning, we will have the opportunity to study and compare the geographical similarities and differences of a region in England and a part of Rome. Our history learning will see us looking at the impact that the Romans have had on Britain as well as the impact that they are still having on our lives today. I wonder what we will discover? Continuing with this theme, we will be refining our fiction writing by having a go at an 'Adventure Story' at the beginning of term, before moving on to writing a piece of non-fiction persuasive writing. In Maths, across the phase we will be learning about multiplication and division, fractions and decimals, measurement and statistics. Our science learning this term will include experiments based on different states of matter, including solids, liquids and gases as well as looking in depth at the digestive system, the importance of our teeth and exploring food chains in the animal kingdom. We are very excited to get going on such a busy and exciting term of learning!
